Welcome Letter from the Headteacher
Dear parents and carers,
A warm welcome to the start of the new academic year. We had a wonderful family and community event yesterday, approximately 600 people attended! Thank you for coming and for a special thank you for taking the time to look round our classrooms and see the high standard of work that goes on at our school. We have exceptionally good and talented staff at our school, they were thrilled to be able to showcase the work they do and meet you and the children before our official first day today.
This year we will be improving our communication with you and will be starting monthly updates which will include important events and dates for you. Class teachers will also be sending home termly information about the curriculum your child is receiving at our school. We look forward to more face to face meetings this year and hope that the pandemic is behind us.
I will outline some important information and term dates for you now but our first monthly newsletter will be out next week.

Autumn Term 1 – Wednesday 7th September to Friday 21st October
Autumn Term 2 – Monday 31st October to Friday 16th December

Summer Term 1 – Monday 17th April to Friday 26th May (May Day Monday 1st May – School closed)
Summer Term 2 – Monday 5th June to Friday 21st July
(Training days were Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th September. They will be Friday 10th February and the 24th and 25th July)
The school day
The school day starts with the gates and classroom doors opening at 8.45am. Registration is from 8.45-8.55, lessons begin promptly at 9am. If you arrive after 9am, you are late and must go the school office to sign your child in.
A reminder that parents must ensure that their child gets to their classroom on time in the morning and all younger children must be taken directly to their classroom door.
School now finishes at 3.15pm. This brings us in line with government expectations for the length of the school day, children must be picked up promptly at this time. Older children must have a signed consent form to go home on their own, which you can get from the school office.
I look forward to meeting you all this year and am very excited about our first year as a 2 form entry school.
Yours sincerely
Mrs Bowman
